Kearsley sits on the Bolton side of the border with Salford, roughly twenty minutes from our base in Hindley Green. Like much of this corridor it grew on coal, and its housing is a mix of older terraced rows, substantial interwar and post-war semis, and later estate development.
A large share of Kearsley is semi-detached housing from the 1930s through the 1960s. These are generally good installs — cavity walls, sensible flue routes, and enough space to site a boiler properly. The recurring find is pipework that has never been cleansed in sixty years, along with radiators cold at the bottom. A full system flush and magnetic filter are included on every job we do.
The older terraces are solid brick with no cavity, so the flue is cored through solid wall and has to be sited clear of windows, doors and boundaries. Where a back boiler is still in place behind the fireplace it needs removing and the boiler relocating, usually to the kitchen — a bigger job that we price properly at survey.
We regularly find boilers tucked into airing cupboards, under stairs, or in cold garages in this type of housing. Some of those positions are fine and some are not, depending on ventilation, access for servicing and flue routing. If yours is in an awkward spot we will tell you honestly whether it can stay there or whether moving it makes for a better installation.
Newer housing around Kearsley typically has an existing combi, a clean flue route and sound pipework — usually a straightforward same-day swap.

A Navien NCB 300 28kW combi starts at £1,795 fully installed, or from £1,995 for a Worcester Bosch Greenstar 1000 24kW. Most Kearsley swaps fall between £1,795 and £2,595, with back boiler removals and relocations priced higher after survey.
Often yes, and sometimes it makes for a better installation — particularly if the current position causes flue or servicing problems. Relocating involves extra pipework and a new flue route, so it is priced at survey as one fixed figure.
Yes. We are based in Hindley Green, around twenty minutes from Kearsley, and also cover Farnworth, Little Lever, Walkden and Bolton.
Not necessarily. Cold at the bottom usually means sludge sitting in the radiator rather than a failed boiler. A proper system cleanse often fixes it. If you do need a new boiler, we cleanse the system and fit a magnetic filter as standard so the new one does not suffer the same fate.
